Where to?

What do you do when your best laid plans come crashing down around you? Today is Sunday, the Sabbath, a day of rest. Some go to church to reflect. Church hasn't offered me solace in years. But I'll revisit quotes, scriptures, message boards, anything to find some sense of meaning.
So what do you do? There are plenty of words from different sources saying how life is what happens when you're busy making other plans or how life doesn't turn out the way you planned it. For the most part this is true.

I've always been something of a perfectionist. A little controlling, holding on with both hands trying to test fate. Which is insane really.
We all do it. We all have our own hard times these days.
My therapy has always been writing, like I'm writing now. It gets things out of my head so I can't curl up with them anymore. As a writer you tend to harbor alot of voices in your head anyway. Better to give them a voice before they torment you. But I digress.
They say that you can tell alot more about the author from reading their novels than anything else. I myself have gone back to reread my own work and thought "Wow, what the hell was I thinking back then!"
Creating fiction has always been a nice escape when reality gets too heavy. Songwriters do it. Actors draw from their emotions to create believable characters.
And its not just creative types. Hell, I just worked out my frustrations with life by sprinting on the treadmill. Whatever gets you through, right?
While writing part 3 of my Demon Hunter series I find it very therapeutic. I'll freely admit that I'm working out alot of my own issues while my character Costa goes through his own. Hopefully by the end we will both be better off.
I have no point to this blog other than to say when you get kicked in the teeth to get up and try again. You might surprise yourself.

So let me pose you a question if you're listening. When you steer off your path into the neighbors rose bush from holding the steering wheel too tight how do you find your way back? I know we've all been there. Why and how do we keep on dusting ourselves off and going for the goal? What helps you through a difficult time? I'm listening.
